This is what all the fuss and the secrecy was about then. I thought we were going TO the market but it seems we've gone UP market with this low level, simple (it has to be for grandad to help with it!!) webby. Cool. It may have to change over the weeks once the teething problems are sorted and believe me, I know about teething problems!!!

Today has been all about getting ready for the celebration of us being 'in business' for a whole year (well, tomorrow really). I've changed my job for today - I'm now a painter and decorator. I decorated the cake we made and got in a bit of a mess but nothing compared to my painting. I painted our birthday banner!!!! Aren't I clever?

All before Jeremy Kyle had finished his show, I'd painted the banner (and nanna's chair), decorated the cake (and nanna's chair), cooked a homlette (not nanna's chair), eaten a homlette, washed my hands (and nanna's chair), trapped my finger in the door, got dinner ready for mummy and daddy for later and told Millie off for barking at the girl next door. Now I'm tired and having a nap but grandad is on instructions NOT to let me sleep too long!! Nanny Vi popped in to see us and I woke up just as she got there which was nice although I was only in my grundies.

So my day at grandad's started straight away and the moment I threw my coat on the floor and my shoes at Millie, I was straight into work. Grandad had made a big banner thing and it was my job to decorate it. He'd very carefully taken the time to outline a name on the paper but I couldn't see the point as I just painted over the top of it all anyway. I put some paint on my hands and done some smudgy marks and also on a little brush that Nanna had sorted out for us. Nanna's chair looked a lovely shade of green when I'd finished and so did the floor, the dog and grandad but grandad managed to clean it all off before Nanna sees it. Grandad then got the banner and put it on the wall, it looked real good and looked just as good when he put it back up after it had fell down again - thus putting more paint over the chairs and walls. That was his fault and I take no responsibilty for his cack-handedness.

Barely had I washed and dried my hands and the dog and the old fella was getting me to finish off a big cake. This was the exam that I mentioned last week and it looks as though I've passed with flying colours. I managed to put a few more chocolates on the cake rather than in my mouth this week but, to be honest, not by much. White buttons, brown buttons, little droplets and tons of guey chocolate that was scrummy. Grandad said the judges will be in later to mark my work so I'll let you know how I get on later.

Not all went well today. I did insist on opening the door for Millie and then closing it once she was in but I've found out that doors like that don't fit as flush when you leave your finger in it. They fit much better when fingers are safely out of the way. I must admit, I was warned but in my haste to help out I was oblivious to current Health and Safety issues. Grandad will now need to write up a risk assessment and procedures for future reference.

We had to take Millie out for her walk as usual but I was more than a little miffed at having to go out. It took grandad ages to finally get my shoes and jacket on but we managed to get out before it got too dark. After watching a bit of Peppa Pig, I was keen to jump in as many puddles as I could but alas, grandad wasn't as keen to let me today. Millie done a massive pooh, not like a big pooh but a humungous pooh and grandad nearly needed a shovel to get it all in those silly little bags. In fact, he did miss a bit when he picked it up but when I shouted "POOH" he made sure he got it all in case anyone was watching.

After a sandwich for dinner, which I happily (and grandad angrily) fed to Millie, we got the tea ready for mummy and daddy tonight. We caught two chickens from a supermarket and gutted and skinned them from their plastic wrapping. We then added the flavour stuff because they don't taste like much without it and then we got some spuds ready too. I like the spud bit because grandad lets me pop them into the big pot and I can usually throw them and get them in, not always but usually. We had the toys down and then put them away before the old folks got back. Our flat-floor-ice-skating from our Winter Lympiks has come in really handy today. Ok, I never won a medal but I now know that I can spill my milk then wipe it up with my socks before grandad really notices.

Today has been great, more about our painting and decorating than too much other fun but its been great to get it all going. Happy Birthday to us and how can it not be happy with an award winning cake to celebrate with???

Hopefully back to nromal funnies next week but for now, hasta la vista.

Catch you all next week
